    Event 360

June 10, 2014 : Last week we had the opportunity to participate as a delegate and exhibitor at the Event360 Forum, organized by Event Magazine, C & IT Magazine and Haymarket Forums, at the Tobacco Docks in London. What an incredible experience!

The event kicked off with International Speaker Jonathan MacDonald who encouraged us to think differently and embrace change.

"Change is happening faster today than it was yesterday and it will be even faster tomorrow," explained Jonathan, who then encouraged us to embrace technologies and inspired us to take events to a new level.

We came across some great new event ideas such as incorporating The Embee Diamond Champagne Reception (though we weren't lucky enough to find a diamond at the bottom of our glasses) and a Pick & Mix Candy station.  We used Blendology badges for an easy way to "tap" and make connections with event delegates and even witnessed Pedal Event in action as a comptetitive event activity.

Aside from meeting many great delegates, the key highlight for us was the keynote by Will Scougal @skillwill, Brand Manager for Twitter UK.  He helped further illustrate the impact that Twitter can have on brand awareness and engagement.

He described Twitter conversation as a series of planned or unplanned conversations happening on a continuum from every day to event specific activities, categorized in to four main topics: Everyday, Campaign, Reactive or Live.   This is best illustrated in the picture below.

This was certainly very compelling for us.  While he didn’t specifically describe the breakdown between each area we deduced that 50% of the activity on Twitter is centered around events, further highlighting how influential Twitter can be at events, including this one!  The #Event360Forum trended as delegates shared experiences via Twitter!
