July 3, 2014 : So, your event was buzzing, both on site AND online and your efforts also led your brand to gain Followers on all your social media platforms. You're happy, your boss or client is happy, so now you can forget about it and move on to the next event, right?

WRONG! Read on to find out how to further benefit AFTER the event. You may be surprised!

    After Your Event
The post event buzz can go on for days, even weeks afterwards as people continue to post photographs and have fun remembering the great time they had.
This is where the "social" part of social media comes into play - sharing experiences with friends, family and co-workers is exactly why social media exists and has exploded over the last few years. You'll be missing out on huge opportunities to connect and engage with customers, potential new clients and industry key influencers if you don't sustain the momentum and leverage the good work you've already achieved.
Schedule time after your event to engage, converse and ask questions. Not only may you find ways to improve the experience in future, but you will also reinforce that your brand cares for its' community.
So, what do you need to do?
    Here's some ideas for you:
    • Search your event hashtag to connect with Tweeters by answering any questions you may have missed on the day.
    • Continue to monitor the hashtag at least daily to engage, RT, share, comment or just thank people for sharing (which will encourage more interaction from other Followers).
    • Follow the most active and thank them for engaging.
    • Review feedback to improve future events.
    • Create a photo album on Facebook or Google+, or create a board on Pinterest, then share them across all your social media channels
    • Don't forget to thank sponsors, speakers and key exhibitors too.
    • Ask questions; Who was the most motivational speaker; What was the best part of the day; What did they learn......
